Free blog training

Want to learn how to create, update, and grow a local community blog?  Want to contribute to this blog?  There will be a free training session on using the WordPress online blogging programme to make and use a blog at 2pm on May 30th at the Pembury Learning Centre 183 Dalston Lane E8 1HL. Snacks, tea and coffee will be served. Spaces are limited, so please email maria.vitale@peabody.org.uk to book your spot!

Lots of free classes just a #30 bus away!

The Hugh Cubitt Centre has a number of free classes that are open to all members of the local community.  The Hugh Cubitt Centre is located at 48 Collier St.N1 9QZ, halfway between Kings Cross and Angel Stations.  Local buses include the 17, 19, 259, 73, 476, 30, 214, and 205.  From Pembury, take the 30 towards central London to get to Hugh Cubitt.  If you would like additional information about any of the following activities, or to book a place, please call 020 7021 4127.  Visit us at http://barnsburyliving.wordpress.com/ for all the up to date information about what’s happening!

Welcome to Net Worx

Net Worx is a programme of drop-in IT training sessions that everyone is invited to.  We meet every Friday from 10am to 12pm at the Pembury Centre.  All are welcome, especially beginners.  Our goal is to get everyone feeling comfortable online. 

Net Worx Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers between the ages 16-25, who are able to commit up to 3 hours a week for 12 weeks.  In return for their time and hard work we are able to offer them expenses for travel costs, and a broad range of training opportunities. They will also have the opportunity to develop their skills and experience in;

  • New media and digital technology
  • Leadership   
  • Training / Teaching

No experience or qualification is needed for the role and we welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. However the key skills would be;

  • An interest in IT and media            
  • Friendly & approachable
  • Sense of humour     
  • Enthusiastic
  • Must be reliable
  • Ability to be understanding
